Terms of Use

Operator: Marco Glorie, a sole proprietorship (個人事業主) Business address: We'll tell you without delay if you ask — contact us at info@oni-style.com Effective: Sep 20, 2026 · Last updated: Sep 20, 2026

1. These terms

These terms cover your use of onistyle — oni-style.jp, oni-style.com, and everything on them. Use onistyle and you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

These terms are standard terms of transaction (定型約款) under Article 548-2 of Japan's Civil Code. They're public on this page, so you can read them any time; ask us and we'll show you them directly.

How we handle your personal information is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. What onistyle is

A Japanese/English site covering hardstyle, hardcore, rawstyle and related dance music in Japan. We publish articles, list events, artists and venues, let you follow artists and venues, and let you comment on events. Event pages have a "who's going" attendee list. Appearing on it is your choice, made separately for each event, and other users can see you're going only if you opt in for that event.

We don't sell tickets. Where a listing links to a ticket seller, any purchase is between you and them, on their terms. We may earn a referral fee — it doesn't change your price and doesn't make us part of your purchase.

3. Accounts

Most of onistyle works without an account. You need one to follow or comment.

  • Sign in with Google or LINE. Keep your account secure — you're responsible for what happens through it.
  • Give us accurate information. Don't impersonate anyone — person, artist, venue or organisation — and don't create an account for someone else without their authority.
  • We may suspend or delete an account that breaches these terms, or that's used for abuse, fraud or automated access.
  • You can delete your account whenever you want.

LINE sign-in. LINE sign-in needs an email address — if you don't allow LINE to share one, sign-in won't complete. What LINE gives us — display name, profile image, and your email address — we use only to run onistyle. We don't combine it with anything else or use it for another purpose. You can delete your onistyle account whenever you want; when you do, we delete what LINE gave us unless the law requires us to keep something. LINE itself is governed by LINE's own terms at https://terms2.line.me/.

4. Age and parental consent

If you're a minor under Japanese law, get your parent's or guardian's consent before creating an account or posting. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 — see the Privacy Policy.

5. What you can't do

Don't use onistyle to:

  1. break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  2. post anything defamatory, harassing, threatening, discriminatory or obscene, or that invades someone's privacy;
  3. post someone else's personal information without their consent;
  4. post anything that infringes copyright, trademark, portrait rights or any other right — including photos, artwork, logos or recordings you don't have permission to use;
  5. advertise, spam, or post repetitive promotional content outside the channels meant for it;
  6. impersonate anyone, including artists, promoters and venues;
  7. scrape, crawl or bulk-extract our content by automated means without our written permission, or put unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
  8. try to gain unauthorised access, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with how onistyle runs.

Organised crime. You confirm you're not a member of, or connected to, 反社会的勢力 (organised crime groups or related parties), and won't act on their behalf. If that turns out to be untrue we can terminate your account immediately.

6. What you post

It stays yours. You keep ownership of and all rights in any comment you post.

What you let us do with it. So we can run onistyle, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display, distribute, translate between Japanese and English, and technically adapt (resizing images, generating previews) what you post — for running and promoting onistyle. It lasts while your comment is on onistyle, and survives afterwards only as far as backups need.

It's on you. You confirm you have the rights to post it and that it doesn't breach §5.

Moderation. Comments on events post immediately and aren't reviewed before you see them. We may remove or hide content, with or without notice, if we reasonably think it breaches these terms or the law, including in response to another user's report. We're not obliged to monitor content, and we can't promise we'll find everything.

Deleting. You can delete your own comments at any time. Delete your account and we handle your comments as the Privacy Policy describes.

7. Our content

Our articles, photos, design, the onistyle name and logo, and how the site is compiled belong to us or our licensors. Don't reproduce them beyond what copyright law allows.

Listing facts are different. Event names, dates, venues and lineups are facts, not copyrighted works, and we claim no copyright in the facts. Reasonable, attributed reference is welcome. Systematically copying our compiled database, or reproducing our writing and photography, isn't.

Third-party material. Where we use artists', venues' or promoters' names, logos, artwork or photographs, we do it either with the rightsholder's permission or within Article 32 of Japan's Copyright Act — clearly separated, subordinate to our own content, genuinely necessary, and properly attributed. All of it stays the property of its owners. If you're a rightsholder and think we've got this wrong, §8 is the route.

8. Copyright and rights complaints

If something on onistyle infringes your copyright, trademark, portrait rights, privacy or reputation, tell us at /contact/takedown with:

  1. your name, contact details, and your relationship to the right (rightsholder, agent, or the person shown);
  2. the URL and enough detail to identify the content;
  3. which right you say is infringed, and why the use isn't permitted;
  4. confirmation that what you've told us is accurate as far as you know.

We'll investigate without undue delay. We may remove or hide the content, ask the poster to respond, or decline and tell you why. Where the law requires it, we may notify the poster and let them object first. We handle transmission-prevention and sender-information-disclosure requests under the 情報流通プラットフォーム対処法.

Think we removed your content by mistake? Same channel — we'll reconsider.

9. We don't sell anything here

onistyle doesn't sell tickets, goods, memberships or paid placements. Payment, refunds, cancellations, entry conditions and age limits for any event are down to the organiser and the ticket seller. If we ever sell directly, we'll publish the disclosures the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (特定商取引法) requires before we do.

10. Changes and downtime

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of onistyle, including for maintenance, without notice where circumstances require. We'll give reasonable notice of significant or permanent changes where we can.

11. Our liability

(a) What we're not part of. We're not a party to your transaction with a ticket seller, and we don't control the third-party sites we link to. We don't run the events we list, and we don't write what other users post. Those relationships are between you and the other party.

(b) Listings change. Event information comes from organisers, venues, ticket sellers and public sources, and it changes constantly. We work to keep it accurate but we can't guarantee dates, times, lineups, venues, prices or availability are correct or current. Check with the organiser or official ticket seller before you travel or buy.

(c) Where we're at fault only slightly. Where loss results from our slight negligence (軽過失) — including loss connected to anything in (a) or (b), to content posted by other users, or to our moderation of it — we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profits or lost opportunity, and our total liability for any matter is limited to ¥100,000.

(d) Where none of this applies. Nothing anywhere in this §11 limits our liability where loss results from our intent or gross negligence, or where the law doesn't allow that liability to be limited. If you're a consumer, nothing in this §11 cuts down your rights under the Consumer Contract Act or any other mandatory consumer-protection law.

12. If you cause us a claim

If someone brings a claim against us because of what you posted or because you broke these terms, please cooperate with us, and be responsible for the resulting loss to the extent it's down to you. Not if the loss came from our own intent or gross negligence.

13. Odds and ends

  • Transfers. You can't transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else without our consent.
  • What survives. §6 (the licence you grant), §7, §11, §12, §14 and §15 continue to apply after your account ends.
  • If part of this is unenforceable, that part is treated as not included and the rest stays in force. We don't read an invalid part back down to whatever the law would allow — it simply drops out.
  • Getting in touch. We'll contact you at the email address on your account or by posting on onistyle. Reach us at info@oni-style.com.

14. Changing these terms

We may amend these terms where the change benefits users, or where it's reasonable given the need for it, what it says, and the circumstances — under Article 548-4 of the Civil Code. We'll publish the amended terms and their effective date here in advance. Keep using onistyle after that date and you've accepted them.

15. Language, law and courts

The Japanese text governs; the English is a reference translation.

Japanese law applies. If we end up in a dispute, the Yokohama District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance. If you're a consumer living outside Japan, this doesn't take away protections your home country's mandatory rules give you.
